Anybody who signs the waiver and gets a wristband (which will be anybody who attends) can ride along with an instructor. They can also participate in the parade laps when we do them for B+. I think food is a good idea, but I will already be handling food and drinks for B+ and the Saturday night social and the Student Resource Center handles food for instructors.

I need a coordinator to volunteer for this as a social event. They can then promote it, organize a list of who would like to come and communicate with them, plan a drive including a start location, bring everybody to the track, get everybody to sign the waiver and receive a wristband, and arrange food for the participants.

For my part, I'm happy to be the contact for instructor rides and to answer any questions about our HPDE events. I can also be the point of contact for anybody who wants to come to Summit Point to hang out, spectate and attend the Saturday night BBQ. I could also arrange parade laps at lunch if there is interest.

That would be cool!  I think we'd see the greatest response for NJMP, because it's more local.  We would probably want to incorporate some sort of food component for folks who make it to the track, maybe a simple cook-out in the parking area?  I like Lisa's idea of conducting a parade lap for those who wish to ride on track.  Maybe we can even offer some "hot laps" to those who would like to ride along with an experienced driver (liability releases signed, of course).

Oh yeah, I definitely figured whoever would coordinate the drives would make them as scenic as possible. I do always enjoy the drive through Harper's Ferry on the way to Summit Point though. Someday I might actually stop there.

I see no reason not to try this out. We have the platform to publicize with CE and our Social platforms connected to it. I would figure the social version of the trip to should be via a more drive friendly routing that the I-81 or Turnpike grind those hauling trailers would want/need to do.

I had what I thought was a novel idea last night. Can we not schedule social/casual events in conjunction with our track weekends? I'm envisioning something like an organized drive or drives to our track location on a Saturday morning (this year, Summit Point, NJMP Lightning and PittRace) then a "cars & coffee" type car show in a portion of the paddock we'd set aside. They could then watch the track driving or racing, mingle with participants and other DelVal members, and hopefully be inspired to get on track themselves. If they want to stay all day and join in our Saturday night food & beverages we can make tickets available.

I believe we'd really just need one person to act as coordinator for each of these events to set up the drive and remind everybody to sign our waiver and get a wristband at the track. NJMP is the only track on our schedule that usually asks for a list a visitors, but I can help coordinate that.

Just throwing it out there, I welcome feedback.

P.S. Yes, I realize PittRace is far. Call it a Social Enduro or something. Maybe focus on Summit Point in June, which is a nice drive.
