To any interested in a group drive to Saratoga Springs, New York for the annual BMW Vintage event at the Saratoga Auto Museum. I plan to drive up from the Philadelphia area on Friday 6 October making a pleasant day long trip of it, and would be pleased to have companions. The event is a very pleasant, small gathering of vintage BMW's, (1999 or older) (see full description of the events and registration requirements on our events calendar) usually 5 or 6 dozen along with one or two really noteworthy cars. It is sponsored and organized by our own Patroon Chapter of the BMW CCA. No judging, just people and cars. Saratoga is a wonderful destination. Small town, great food, shopping, etc. The surrounding area is beautiful natural environment, great driving roads and hiking, and is predicted to be close to peak foliage the week of this event.
Though there are activities Friday through Sunday, my plan is to travel up Friday during daylight hours. I have a pleasant, country route to drive that avoids highways and metro New York. Portions of the route developed by our president several years ago, tweaked by me over the last couple of years. My idea is nothing formal, but, a fun, self monitoring group drive, on what I hope to be a sunny, fall weekend.
